NAW elects 2010 officers

Members of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW), during the association’s Executive Summit in Washington, D.C., elected Robert Taylor as chairman of the NAW Board of Directors. Taylor is president and CEO of Do it Best Corp., headquartered in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

He succeeds Chip Hornsby, the Former Group Chief Executive of Wolseley plc, headquartered in Theale, England. Hornsby will remain active on the NAW Board as Immediate Past Chairman.

Other industry leaders also were elected as NAW officers for 2010 included Dennis G. Hatchell, chairman-elect; Mark Kramer, first vice chairman; Roy Vallee, second vice chairman; Patrick Larmon, secretary; and Dirk Van Dongen, president, National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors, Washington, D.C.

NAW comprises individual wholesale distribution firms and a federation of national, regional, state and local associations and their members, which collectively total more than 40,000 companies. NAW represents the $4.5 trillion merchant wholesale distribution industry, which moves to market virtually every kind of product in the U.S. economy and employs 5 million people.
