1.
What kinds of products would my photo be used on, and what are the royalty amounts to me for use of my photo?

We have started with the three product areas most requested by people contacting us: Clothing, which includes T-shirts, sweatshirts and aprons; Novelty items, which includes mugs, puzzles and mousepads; and Paper Products, which includes calendars and greeting cards. We are currently evaluating other products as well. Royalties in the amount of 10% of the retail price of the product for each usage are paid to the artist. This royalty rate is the highest rate currently being paid in the stock photography industry for use on products of this type.

2.

What if someone wants to use my photo in a magazine article, a newspaper or on a web site?
If someone wants to make use of your photo for anything other than the products we carry, we contact you within 48 hours with the name and address of the individual or publication wanting to use your photo. We will also provide you with industry guidelines to help you to negotiate directly with them for the use of your image, and will arrange for digital transfer of your image to them.
3. Why would someone want to use my photo on a product?
Because it's good, and because people from all over the world can now see it! The fact that your photo is featured by The International Library of Photography means millions of exposures of your photo to people each year who visit picture.com. You should know that some photos have only limited suitability for licensing as stock photos. For example, many wonderful and touching photos of families and children are so personal that they may have appeal only to those who are familiar with the subjects involved. However, it is worth registering these photos anyway, in case you or your family or friends may wish to purchase a quality product featuring your photo. Registration is free, and you still receive royalties no matter who purchases the product.
4. Can I reasonably expect to profit from licensing my photo?
We are affiliated with The International Library of Photography (ILP) -- picture.com -- the premier place on the Internet to browse through and enjoy photographs of every conceivable subject. This site was originally intended as an adjunct to the ILP's publishing activities, and to display their semi-finalist contest entries online. We had no idea at the time that once the world could easily find these special and unique photos on the Internet, that people would ask us if they could license the images. So we established epotograph.com! As for profitability, from our experience so far, it appears that certain images have greater appeal as stock photos than others. For example, we have found the best selling images generally portray universal themes - landscapes, sunsets, nature - or depict action or humor - or involve people, children, or pets with particularly moving or touching expressions. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that anyone will want to license your photo. We can only assure you that we will make it as easy as possible for people both to find your photo and purchase products using your image.
5. How does someone make a purchase using my photo?
Simply by going to our Internet site. All photos registered for sale are identified. We make it easy for people to find specific types of photos through the use of descriptive word searches (see the license registration form). Once a person finds the photo they want, secure ordering is only a click away.
6. What if I wish to purchase a product myself which features my photo?
All of our quality products come with an unconditional guarantee of your satisfaction. We welcome your order, and assure you that for any use of your image - even your own - you will receive your royalties promptly.
